Yes, ₹500 flat per day for all pets combined — no per-pet charge, no limit on number of pets. No breed restrictions. Confirmed by property on 15 June 2026.
Why pet parents will love this place
Finding a genuinely pet friendly stay near Delhi that does not just tolerate your dog but actually welcomes them - fenced garden, rooms they can enter, a host who picks up the phone - is harder than it sounds. We know because we searched for four days before we found Stairway To Heaven.
We were planning a long weekend to Dehradun and Mussoorie with Apple, Captain and Kimchi. Summer, school holidays, and a weekend meant every decent property either said no to dogs or had no availability. After four days of calls, dead ends, and one property that confirmed pets and then reversed it - we found Stairway To Heaven on Mussoorie Road in Rajpur, Dehradun. We drove up on the new Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and arrived in just over 4 hours from Gurugram.

Why this is one of the best pet friendly stays near Mussoorie
Stairway To Heaven sits on Mussoorie Road in Khala Gaon, Rajpur - close enough to Dehradun city for Zomato and Blinkit to deliver (we tested this at midnight and food arrived in 10 minutes), but elevated enough for valley views from every room. Mussoorie is a 30-minute drive. The property has two separate villas side by side - each a fully furnished 2BHK with a large hall, dining area, kitchen, and a private fenced garden at the back.
What Apple, Captain and Kimchi actually did here
The fenced backyard lawn was the first thing all three ran to. The garden overlooks the Dehradun valley and has enough space for a proper zoomie session. No wildlife concerns - the area is completely safe for dogs off-leash within the garden. Badal (the caretaker) was genuinely great with all three dogs from the moment we arrived at midnight.
The pet policy - honest version
₹500 flat per day covers all your pets combined. Not per dog - flat. No breed restrictions, no size limits, no cap on how many pets you bring. Dogs are allowed in the rooms, the lawn, everywhere on the property. This is the kind of policy that actually means pet-friendly, not "small dogs in ground floor rooms only if you keep them crated." We confirmed this directly during the stay.
Pet charges - exactly what you pay
₹500 per day flat for all pets. No per-pet charge. No deposit. No breed or size restriction. Confirmed directly by the property team in June 2026. Call ahead to confirm current rate before booking.
The villa
The 2BHK villa has two bedrooms on the first floor with king beds and valley views from the large bay windows. The ground floor has a spacious hall, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and RO water - no extra charge. A 55-inch TV with Netflix and YouTube is included. Parking is available on the property.
What makes this work for a pet friendly family stay near Dehradun is that the layout gives dogs room to move. The ground floor hall opens to the garden - you are not trying to keep three excited dogs contained in a small room while everyone settles in. The space actually accommodates them.
The host and staff
The host is easy to reach before arrival and the staff at the property go beyond standard hospitality. Badal in particular - friendly with dogs, responsive on one call, happy to help at any hour including midnight arrival. A chef and caretaker are available on-site with a full à la carte menu if you want meals prepared without leaving the property.
Good to know before you book
The property has two villas side by side - useful if you are a larger group or want a separate space for extra dogs. Mussoorie is 30 minutes away. The new Delhi-Dehradun Expressway makes the drive significantly faster than the old route - allow 4 to 4.5 hours from South Delhi or Gurugram depending on traffic near Dehradun city.
Watch the property
Day-time property tour - 36,000+ views
Full day out: Maldevta river + Stairway To Heaven tour (~8 min)
⚠️ Kimadi waterfall - skip it with dogs
Kimadi waterfall is about 10km from this property, on the way toward Maldevta. We stopped there on the same day. It is not suitable or enjoyable for dogs - congested access, rocky terrain, nothing like the calm river experience at Maldevta. For a day trip from Stairway To Heaven with dogs, go directly to Maldevta (about 20 minutes away). Save Kimadi for a visit without them.
Getting there - via the new Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway (recently opened) connects Delhi to Dehradun significantly faster than the old NH-58 route. From Gurugram, take NH-48 north → Delhi-Meerut Expressway → Delhi-Dehradun Expressway → Dehradun. At Dehradun, take Mussoorie Road toward Rajpur. Stairway To Heaven is near Shiv Mandir in Khala Gaon. Total drive from Gurugram: approximately 4 to 4.5 hours.
For pet parents in Delhi looking for a weekend trip with dogs, this is one of the closest mountain stays with a genuine fenced garden, pet-in-room policy, and a host who has clearly dealt with dogs before.
