The Setting
Anjaneri is a small village in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, located at the base of the Anjaneri hills , a range known among trekkers and pilgrims alike. The cottage is registered under Water Line Canopi at Gat No. 130/1, Beze, which places it in a semi-rural pocket with open views toward the surrounding hills. Guests who have reviewed the property on Google mention waking up to scenic mountain views as a genuine highlight, not a brochure claim. One reviewer who came specifically for Nashik and Trimbakeshwar called it a 100% recommendation for anyone visiting the region.
For pet parents, this kind of setting , low traffic, open air, and rural calm , tends to work well. Dogs get space and the kind of quiet that makes a two-night stay feel genuinely restorative rather than just functional. The surrounding village is unhurried, and the lack of dense urban footfall means you are unlikely to encounter the kind of chaotic street-level environment that unsettles dogs in city-centre stays. If your dog needs room to decompress between travel legs, Anjaneri delivers exactly that.
The cottage is women-owned, a detail listed on the Google Business profile, and guests have specifically named a team member called Ajit for his attentive hospitality and service throughout their stays. The property amenities confirmed via the booking platform include a pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking, paid breakfast, air-conditioning, laundry service, room service, a restaurant, and kitchens in some rooms. Whether the pool is accessible to pets has not been confirmed , worth asking when you call ahead.
Pet Policy at Kimaya Cottage
The pet policy at Kimaya Cottage is clear and honest: pets are allowed at a charge of ₹800 per night, and guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pet during the stay. This is a reasonable and standard policy for a boutique property of this type. What it means in practice is that you should plan to cover any incidental damage at checkout , there is no mention of a separate security deposit, but it is worth clarifying this when you book. The property does not appear to publish breed or weight restrictions in its public listings, but as always with smaller boutique stays, calling ahead at 092263 90732 before arrival is strongly advisable if you are travelling with a large breed or multiple dogs.
The pet fee structure , a flat ₹800 per night , is more transparent than many pet-friendly stays in the Nashik belt, where policies are often vague or unstated until check-in. Having a clear number means you can budget accordingly and avoid any awkward conversations on arrival. Whether there is a cap on the number of pets per booking is not confirmed in available sources. If you are travelling with two or more dogs, raise this explicitly when you call , it is a straightforward question and most properties have a clear answer once asked directly.
In-room pet access is not confirmed in available sources. Some properties in this category allow pets in rooms as standard; others restrict them to outdoor or common areas after hours. This is one of the more important questions to ask before you book, particularly if your dog is crate-trained or accustomed to sleeping in the room with you. The property website is kimaya.framer.ai and the contact number is 092263 90732 , use both to pin down the specifics before your travel dates are locked in.
The Amenities , What Matters for Pet Travel
Free parking is confirmed at Kimaya Cottage, which is more significant than it sounds when you are arriving by road with a dog, a crate, food supplies, and travel gear. You need space to unload without stress, and a driveway or open parking area gives you that. The presence of on-site restaurant and room service also means you are not forced to leave your dog unattended in the room every time you want a meal , you can order in and stay put when settling a new arrival or an anxious dog into an unfamiliar space.
The pool is listed among the property amenities. Whether pets are allowed in or near the pool is unconfirmed , if that matters to you (for cooling off on a hot afternoon, or simply because your dog is drawn to water), ask directly. The paid breakfast option is worth noting for early-morning trekking plans , having food on-site means you can eat before heading out without losing daylight hours to a drive into town. Air-conditioning is confirmed, which is relevant for summer visits when dogs can overheat quickly in hill-station heat that spikes unexpectedly in the afternoon.
Kitchens are available in some rooms, which is genuinely useful for pet travel. Being able to prepare your dog's food on-site , rather than relying on carrying pre-portioned meals that run out , is an underrated convenience on longer stays. Confirm at the time of booking whether the room type you are selecting includes a kitchen, as this appears to vary by unit.
The Area , Treks, Temples, and What's Nearby
Kimaya Cottage is ideally positioned for a weekend road trip from Nashik or Pune. Nashik city is the nearest major hub, and Trimbakeshwar , one of the twelve Jyotirlinga pilgrimage sites in India , is close enough that guests regularly combine both in a single trip. The Anjaneri hills themselves are considered a moderately challenging trekking destination and are associated with local folklore and pilgrimage routes. Whether these trails are accessible with dogs has not been confirmed, and during peak pilgrimage seasons the routes can get crowded , worth factoring in if you have a reactive or easily overwhelmed dog.
The broader Nashik district offers vineyard visits, the Godavari ghats, and Sula Vineyards , though pet access at most of these venues would need to be verified independently before planning a combined itinerary. Nashik is also a credible stop on a longer road circuit that includes Igatpuri or Bhandardara, both of which have their own set of dog-friendly accommodation options if you are planning a multi-leg trip through northern Maharashtra.
What to Confirm Before You Visit
Check-in at Kimaya Cottage is at 1:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM , standard for this property type. Given the rural location, it is worth confirming the nearest veterinary clinic before you arrive, as emergency vet access in smaller Maharashtra villages can require a drive of 15–30 minutes to the nearest town with a practising vet. This is not a deterrent, but it is the kind of logistical gap that is worth closing before you need it urgently.
Items worth confirming directly with the property at 092263 90732 or via kimaya.framer.ai before booking:

Whether the pool is accessible to pets, or off-limits
Whether there is a cap on the number of pets per booking
Whether a security deposit applies separately from the ₹800/night pet charge
