Lakeside Chalet, Mumbai - Marriott Executive Apartments (Mumbai)

Lakeside Chalet, Mumbai - Marriott Executive Apartments is a full-service apartment hotel sitting on the shores of Powai Lake, and it genuinely welcomes dogs. The property runs on an all-suites format - you get a proper living room, kitchen, and in many room types, views of the lake or the surrounding hills - which makes a real difference when you're travelling with a dog who needs space to settle.

What it's actually like for dogs here

A guest review on Google describes bringing their golden retriever and having the dog join them for breakfast at the outdoor seating area - and being given a genuinely warm welcome rather than just being tolerated. The same review mentions a pet menu at the restaurant and a lawn where dogs can stretch their legs. These are details that matter when you're spending more than one night in the city. The property shares facilities with the adjacent Westin, including what reviewers describe as one of the better hotel gyms in Mumbai, and the grounds are large enough that walking your dog within the property is a realistic option.

The rooms and what they offer

Room categories include 1 Bedroom Hill View, One Bedroom Lake View, One Bedroom Patio, 2 Bedroom Hill View, and Two Bedroom options - five types in total. All apartments come with a full kitchen, living and dining areas, marble bathrooms, and in some cases a patio. For anyone travelling with a dog, the kitchen is genuinely useful - you can prep your dog's meals without relying on room service logistics. The patio room type is worth flagging for dog owners: direct outdoor access from your room is a significant convenience, especially on early mornings. That first walk before the hotel wakes up is so much easier when you're not navigating lifts and lobbies.

Location and getting around with your dog

The property is in Powai, 10 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and 34 km from the Gateway of India. Powai Lake is directly adjacent, and the jogging trail on the property grounds gives dogs an actual place to move - unusual for a Mumbai city hotel. The neighbourhood is relatively calm compared to South Mumbai or Bandra, which makes road crossings and footpath walking more manageable. There is complimentary on-site and valet parking, which matters if you're driving in with your dog rather than flying. Arriving by car with a large dog through valet parking at a five-star property can be hit or miss - the fact that this is flagged as pet-friendly at the property level suggests the front-of-house team is prepared for it.
