Finding a pet friendly hostel in Rishikesh that genuinely welcomes your dog - not just tolerates them - is still a small victory worth celebrating. Zostel Rishikesh - Tapovan, one of the Zostel chain's outposts in the Uttarakhand hills, sits in Tapovan, a quieter pocket of Rishikesh that suits both humans craving calm and dogs who'd rather sniff riverbank air than navigate chaotic bazaar crowds. For pet parents road-tripping through the hills on a budget, this one is on the radar.
🐾 For pet parents
Zostel Rishikesh - Tapovan has been reported to accept pets, with a pet charge of ₹Confirm directly/night - however, this listing is not yet verified by our team, so please do not treat this as confirmed. Allowed pet types and size restrictions have not been confirmed either, so reach out to the property before you travel to get the current rules in writing. Always confirm with the property directly - policies at hostels can change seasonally, and you don't want a surprise at check-in with your dog beside you.
Zostel properties are known in the Indian backpacker circuit for their sociable dorm-and-common-area format, and the Tapovan location leans into Rishikesh's outdoorsy, easygoing energy. Tapovan itself is a dog-friendly Rishikesh neighbourhood by nature - open lanes, proximity to the river, and a slower pace compared to the main ghats make early-morning and evening walks with your pet genuinely pleasant. If the pet policy checks out when you call ahead, this could be a solid budget pet stay in Rishikesh for solo travellers or small groups who don't want to compromise on bringing their furry co-pilot.
