Vishram Resort sits in the quiet Pondha valley on the outskirts of Dehradun, just minutes from UPES University, and makes a solid case for being one of the more genuinely pet-welcoming resorts in Uttarakhand. Pets are listed as free to bring, dogs and cats are both welcome, and the resort's lush, spread-out grounds give four-legged guests room to actually breathe. The property offers premium cottages, an in-house café, a swimming pool, and bonfire evenings - a proper pause from city noise without heading deep into the hills.
✓ Verified by the Pet Friendly Places team
Vishram Resort confirms pets are welcome at no extra charge. Both dogs and cats are listed as allowed. The resort's own website references pet-friendly spaces specifically, and the property listing confirms "Pets allowed" as a facility. In-room pet policy details were not explicitly stated - confirm directly with the resort at 074099 74100 before arrival.
The Grounds & What Your Dog Gets
The resort is spread across lush, green landscapes with birdsong as the default soundtrack - the kind of quiet that makes dogs slow down too. There's a garden, balcony/terrace access, and ample open space on the property. With parking for 100+ cars, the resort clearly caters to road-trippers, which makes it a practical stop for families driving up from Delhi or Dehradun city. The Acrosshill Café on-site and bonfire evenings mean you're not hunting for dinner after a long drive with your pet.
Rooms & Practical Setup
The property offers apartment-style units at 100 sq metres with a full kitchen, balcony/terrace, and bathtub - generous sizing that makes multi-night stays with a dog genuinely comfortable rather than a squeeze. Some rooms include a kitchen, which is useful when you want to prep your dog's meals without fuss. Daily housekeeping, 24-hour front desk, room service, and free Wi-Fi are all confirmed. Breakfast is available at an extra charge. Check-in is at 1:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM - standard, but worth factoring if you're timing a long drive.
Who This Works Best For
Vishram is best suited to pet parents who want a nature-facing reset without roughing it - there's a swimming pool, meeting rooms, and restaurant-quality dining on-site, so it doesn't feel like a compromise. The resort has a 4.4 Google rating across 165 reviews with recurring mentions of great food, a quiet atmosphere, and attentive ownership. It's positioned as a family and corporate retreat, so expect a calm, managed environment rather than a remote wilderness stay. Families travelling with both children and dogs will find the setup works well - child-friendly facilities and pet-friendly spaces coexist here.
