River Cliff Resort (Dehradun) (Saliyawala)

River Cliff Resort sits in a secluded pocket of Dehradun's Dhaulas area, far enough from the city bustle that guests consistently describe it as peaceful and quiet. Each room comes with a private balcony offering river and mountain views, and the property's remoteness - which some reviewers flag as a limitation - is exactly what makes it work for pet parents who want open space and calm surroundings for their dogs.

What the property is actually like

Rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and noticeably cleaner than their listing photos suggest - multiple reviewers have specifically called out that the reality is better than the pictures. Every room has a balcony, which means your dog has a dedicated outdoor perch without you having to go downstairs. The building itself is a modern multi-storey structure set against a backdrop of hills, and the surrounding area is quiet enough at night that you won't have to worry about traffic noise stressing out an anxious dog. Caretaker Himanshu has been repeatedly mentioned by guests as proactive and genuinely helpful - useful to know if you need assistance managing a dog during your stay.

Space and setting for dogs

The resort's location in Badshahi Bag, Saliyawala is the kind of secluded that actually delivers - no crowded market streets, no honking outside the gate. Reviewers describe the surroundings as beautiful and quiet, which translates well for dogs who do better away from stimulation. The property is positioned near a river, and the landscape around it is green and open. That said, the area is remote enough that it's described as "totally deserted at night," so plan your evening walks and supplies accordingly - don't count on picking up dog food nearby after dark.

Food, facilities, and practical notes

The resort has an on-site restaurant, Wi-Fi, parking, and 24-hour front desk. Room amenities include toiletries, mineral water, and a minibar. Food quality has received mixed feedback in reviews - the kitchen is functional but guests note it can be inconsistent depending on staffing. Pack your dog's meals from the city rather than relying on the kitchen to accommodate any special requests. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out at 12:00 PM. The property is about an hour's drive from central Dehradun, so factor that into your arrival planning, especially if you're travelling with dogs who get anxious on long drives.
