From Clock Tower
Mango Tree Courtyard is a colonial-era property sitting in the heart of Dehradun, about a kilometre from the Clock Tower and a short walk from the historic Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara. The property is run by co-hosts Ruchi Sharan (a Dehradun native) and Kaylen Whitmore, and leans heavily into a home-away-from-home atmosphere - organic meals, lush green courtyards, and unhurried hospitality. For pet parents driving through Uttarakhand or using Dehradun as a base for Rishikesh or Mussoorie, this is a well-reviewed urban option that confirms pets are welcome on the property.
✓ Verified by the Pet Friendly Places team
Mango Tree Courtyard is listed as pet-friendly across Booking.com and their own website. The property confirms pets allowed under their amenities. Specific pet charges and in-room pet policy details were not available at the time of verification - confirm directly with the property before booking, especially if travelling with a large dog.
The Property & What Makes It Work for Pet Travellers
The building itself is the draw - a colonial structure with spacious guestrooms, ensuite bathrooms, and a genuinely beautiful lush green courtyard that multiple guests single out in reviews. There's a rooftop terrace with a wood-fired pizza and tandoori oven, BBQ facilities, and gardens that give the property more breathing room than a typical city hotel. For dogs, the open courtyard and garden areas mean there's somewhere to stretch legs without immediately hitting the street. Free parking on-site is a practical plus for road-trippers arriving with dogs and gear.
Food, Location & Getting Around
Breakfast is included and the meals are a consistent highlight in guest reviews - family-style, with organic and homegrown produce where possible. The kitchen also accommodates special diet requests. The location is genuinely walkable: Rangers' Ground is 1.5 km away, Muslim Colony Park is 1.7 km, and several other green spaces are within 2 km - all useful for morning or evening dog walks. Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Mussoorie are each under an hour's drive, making this a practical overnight or multi-night base for a longer Uttarakhand road trip with your dog. An airport shuttle is available (extra charge) from Dehradun Airport, 22 km away, though most pet travellers will be arriving by road.
What to Know Before You Book
