Pet Charges
Jolly Retreat is a cottage property on Bahuwala Road in Dehradun, Uttarakhand - seven individually named cottages spread across grounds surrounded by seasonal flowers and open skies. Both dogs and cats are welcomed here, with Google confirming pet-friendly status and noting an extra charge applies. The cottages are spacious 2BHK units, so there's actual room to settle in with your dog rather than squeezing into a standard hotel room.
✓ Verified by the Pet Friendly Places team
Google confirms dogs and cats are allowed at Jolly Retreat, flagged as pet-friendly with an extra charge applicable. The property's own website lists seven cottage categories - from the Farm House Villa to the Jasmine Jacuzzi Super Deluxe - all within a single nature-facing campus in Kanswali Kothari, Dehradun. Contact the property directly on 098371 27676 to confirm current pet charges and which cottages allow pets before booking.
What the Property Looks Like for Dogs
The campus is designed around open grounds, garden spaces, and a terrace area fenced by forest and hills - which means your dog has room to wander rather than being confined to a corridor. Guest photos show a wide open lawn with stone sculptures and greenery, the kind of unhurried outdoor space that works well for dogs who need to decompress after a long drive. The cottages themselves are 2BHK units accommodating up to six guests, with a living room, dining area, patio, two attached bathrooms, TV, AC, and refrigerator - enough room to set up a dog bed without everything feeling cramped. A caretaker is available on-site for day-to-day needs, and butler and room service are offered, so you're not left to sort things out yourself.
Food, Evenings, and What Works for Pet Families
The on-site restaurant serves locally-sourced meals with table service and room service both available. Evenings at Jolly Retreat lean into the outdoor setting - there are indoor and outdoor firepits, a bonfire option, and a barbecue setup on the outdoor terrace. Sitting around a firepit after dinner with your dog beside you is exactly the kind of evening this place is set up for. Breakfast is included (confirm at booking). Bicycle hire is available at extra charge, and the property also lists golf as an activity. A jacuzzi is available in the premium Jasmine cottage category if that matters to your group.
A Few Honest Notes Before You Book
Guest reviews on MakeMyTrip rate the stay 4/5, with staff responsiveness consistently mentioned as a positive. One reviewer flagged cleanliness inconsistencies - specifically an uncleaned tea kettle - so it may be worth checking room cleanliness on arrival. Another reviewer noted the resort could better stock soft drinks and water bottles. The setting itself - peaceful, green, and genuinely away from city noise - comes through consistently in guest feedback. A family reviewer specifically called it a good option for pet owners, though the full text wasn't visible in screenshots. Pet charges are listed as extra but the exact amount is not publicly disclosed - call ahead so there are no surprises at checkout.
