Landour
Location
Jabarkhet Trekker's Lodge sits on Tehri Road in Jabarkhet, just above Landour - one of the quieter, less touristy pockets near Mussoorie. It's a small lodge run by a host family (guests consistently name Titu) who allow pets at no extra charge, on request. Rooms have mountain views, balconies, and a tea-coffee maker - nothing flashy, but everything that actually matters after a day on the trails.
✓ Confirmed by the property
Pets are welcome at Jabarkhet Trekker's Lodge on request, with no additional pet charges. Always mention your dog when booking so the team can prepare accordingly.
The Stay
Rooms are simple and thoughtfully put together - private bathrooms, balconies, mountain views, tea and coffee maker, free toiletries, and soundproofing that makes the nights genuinely quiet. Guests call out the peace and quiet that wraps around you as soon as you arrive. There's a sun terrace, an outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor dining area - all of which translate to good space for dogs to stretch out. Free WiFi works throughout the property, and the 24-hour front desk means someone is always around. Breakfast is available free, and home-cooked food has been specifically praised in reviews.
For Dog Travellers
Jabarkhet is a genuinely dog-friendly base. The Jabarkhet Nature Reserve is close by, and the area has walking trails that guests use for morning hikes - the kind of terrain dogs love. The lodge is away from the main Mussoorie Mall Road crowds, which means your dog isn't navigating heavy traffic or chaotic market lanes. Parking is free and off-site. Check-in is between 3 PM and 9 PM - worth noting if you're driving up from the plains and need to plan your arrival. Call ahead to confirm your dog's stay since pets are accepted on request, not automatically.
