Pet-Friendly Hostels in Rishikesh

Rishikesh is one of the few adventure destinations in India where hostel-style accommodation actively welcomes pets. The Hosteller operates three properties here — on the Ganges, near Laxman Jhula, and in the quieter Upper Tapovan area — and all three have confirmed they accept dogs in private rooms. This makes Rishikesh the most hostel-friendly pet destination we know of in the hills.

The key rule across all three properties: pets are allowed in private rooms only, not in dorms. So you book a private or semi-private room, your dog stays with you, and you access all the hostel's common spaces as normal. This is the same setup most international pet-friendly hostels use — the dog is your responsibility in shared spaces, but the property doesn't turn you away at the gate.

All three properties are Team Verified — meaning we or our team has contacted them directly and confirmed the pet policy. None of them require advance notice beyond a note at booking that you are travelling with a dog.
