Riverwoods Resort - In the Lap of Nature (Dehradun) (malsi)

Riverwoods Resort sits right next to Robbers Cave (Guchupani), one of Dehradun's most visited natural landmarks, with the sound of a flowing river as your constant companion. Six spacious rooms with river and forest views, free breakfast included, and dogs explicitly welcome - it's a solid riverside base if you're driving up from Delhi with a dog in tow. Pets are accepted at an extra charge, though the exact amount isn't published; confirm before you book.

The Setting: River, Forest, and Robbers Cave on Your Doorstep

The resort is positioned right on the edge of the Malsi forest belt near Guchupani, with the Asan river channel running alongside the property. Guests consistently highlight waking up to the sound of flowing water as the defining experience here. The natural surroundings mean your dog gets a genuinely stimulating environment - green trails, river-adjacent walking, and the kind of fresh mountain air that makes city dogs go slightly feral in the best way. The property also sits close to the Song and Tons rivers, and the resort's own website mentions bonfires at the riverbank, guided treks, bird-watching, and fishing as available activities.

Rooms, Amenities, and What to Expect

All six rooms are described as spacious and river-viewing, with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and a coffee maker. Free breakfast (buffet style) is included in the rate, and the on-site restaurant offers table service, room service, and buffet dinner. Wi-Fi is free, parking is free, and the property accepts credit, debit, and NEC mobile payments. The resort runs 24 hours and is accessible. One consistent flag in guest reviews is bathroom maintenance - worth checking your room on arrival. On the upside, service ratings are among the strongest in the review set, with 112 mentions of service in Google feedback.

Travelling Here with a Dog

The Airbnb listing explicitly states "Furry friends welcome - bring your pets along for the stay," and Google's property listing confirms dogs allowed under the pets section. A pet surcharge applies but the amount is not published online. The riverside location is a genuine plus for dogs - open space, natural terrain, and no dense urban crowds. The proximity to Robbers Cave means the immediate area will have tourist foot traffic during the day, so early morning walks along the river are your best bet for quiet time with your dog in the greens. Always carry water for your dog on any trail walks here, especially between March and June when temperatures climb.
