Neelam Restaurant Rishikesh (Rishikesh)

Laxman Jhula is the older and more established end of Rishikesh's tourist corridor - the bridge that gave this area its name, the narrow pedestrian lane lined with shops and cafes on the west bank, and the specific mix of international yoga visitors, long-term residents, and Indian pilgrims that has defined the area for decades. Neelam Restaurant is part of this corridor, a multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant on Laxman Jhula Road serving the full-meal crowd rather than the snack-and-coffee set.

What distinguishes a meal at Laxman Jhula from the same food elsewhere in Rishikesh is the setting - the bridge visible from many seating positions, the river sounds, and the particular density of activity that makes this stretch one of the most consistently alive parts of the city across all hours. For a dog, Laxman Jhula requires some navigation: the pedestrian lane gets genuinely crowded at peak hours, and arriving early morning or late afternoon makes the experience significantly calmer than midday when the tourist footfall peaks.

For visiting with a dog

Early morning (before 9 AM) or late afternoon (after 4 PM) are the better windows at Laxman Jhula with a dog - midday tourist traffic on the bridge lane is heavy and the narrow street can be stressful for reactive animals. The restaurants along this strip have outdoor seating that works for dogs when the footfall is manageable.
