Doolally Taproom - Andheri (Mumbai)

Doolally Taproom in Andheri West is one of Mumbai's most genuinely dog-welcoming spots , not just tolerant, but built around the idea that dogs belong here too. Founded in 2009 by a German brewmaster, this craft beer institution on New Link Road has grown into a multi-city taproom chain with locations in Mumbai, Pune, and Goa, and the Andheri outlet is consistently one of the most pet-trafficked among them. Reviewers regularly report seeing multiple dogs on any given visit , birthday parties for dogs included.

The Setting and What to Expect

The Andheri taproom is tucked into the ground floor of Palash Towers B Wing in the Veera Desai Industrial Estate , one of those spots that feels slightly hidden but rewards the effort. Reviewers describe it as discreet from the outside, warm and lively inside. There's both indoor air-conditioned seating and an outdoor section (the outdoor area also permits smoking). The space can get busy and noisy on weekends during peak meal hours, which is worth knowing if your dog is sensitive to crowd noise , the pet policy specifically asks that dogs be comfortable around crowds and ambient noise before you bring them in.

The taproom format means it's a proper sit-down experience, not a quick pit stop. Board games are available at the tables , a UNO H2O pack has been spotted , and Doolally leans into the idea of long, unhurried evenings. They open early for lunch, run through dinner, and have hosted enough dog birthday celebrations over the years that a canine birthday party here is practically a Mumbai tradition. Large breeds are not excluded , a Rottweiler has been cited in reviews , and the general vibe from regulars is that well-behaved dogs of any size are part of the furniture.

Food, Drink, and the Pet-Friendly Menu

On the drinks side, Doolally brews traditional-style beers with a twist , the apple cider and mango cider are among the most-recommended by reviewers, with the apple cider drawing comparisons to Strongbow. The Belgian Witbier also comes up repeatedly. The food menu is deliberately compact (roughly one page), but portions are noted as generous. The must-order is the hand-cut fries served with a palette of dipping sauces: sambal, mango salsa, wasabi mayo, herbed cheese, and aioli. One Google reviewer also calls out the Stroganoff steak. Importantly, one reviewer confirms that Doolally Andheri serves pet food , so there may be something on the menu for your dog too, though we'd recommend calling ahead on +91 75016 26905 to confirm current availability of pet-specific food items before your visit.

Pricing sits in the ₹1,400–1,600 range for a meal with drinks for two, based on reviewer estimates. Parking is available outside the restaurant on a pay-and-park basis. Digital payments, credit cards (Mastercard, Amex, Visa), and free Wi-Fi are all confirmed. Doolally also runs workshops and events through the year, so the taproom calendar is worth checking at doolally.in before you visit , some events may have different crowd levels that could affect whether it's the right day to bring a reactive dog.

Pet Policy in Practice

Dogs are welcome across all seating areas , both indoor and outdoor. The Andheri outlet has a resident cat, so if your dog has a strong prey drive or has never been around cats, factor that in before your visit. Pets must be leashed or kept under direct control at all times, and should be well-socialised and comfortable around a busy pub environment. There is no stated breed restriction and no pet fee confirmed in the available sources. Multiple reviewers across Google and TripAdvisor have visited with dogs of varying sizes, so the policy appears to be consistently applied in practice, not just on paper. Doolally's own website puts it plainly: "You bring the people, the dogs and the conversations; we'll handle the beer."
