Baghaan Orchard Retreat sits 110 km from Delhi in Kachraut, Uttar Pradesh - a sprawling 20-acre mango orchard property with over 1,000 trees, 57 guest rooms and cottages, and a dedicated pet policy published on their website. The scale of the property is its biggest selling point for dog parents: there is genuine open space here, not just a token lawn. The resort has a marked pet walking area on-site, which is a practical detail that matters more than it sounds.
✓ Confirmed by the property
Baghaan Orchard Retreat has a published pet policy on their website at baghaan.com/pet-policy/. Pets are welcomed in cottages (maximum two per cottage), a pet fee of ₹500 per pet per day applies, and a dedicated pet walking zone is marked on the property. Vaccination records from a licensed vet are mandatory at the time of booking - carry a digital copy.
What the Property Looks Like for a Dog
Twenty acres of mango orchards and manicured lawns means your dog will get room to actually stretch their legs - this is not a city hotel with a strip of grass. The cottages (Dasehri Kothi at 960 sq ft and Amrapali Kothi at 1,500 sq ft) offer real indoor space for larger dogs who don't do well in compact rooms. Up to two pets are allowed per cottage. The resort has a marked pet walking area; staff can guide you to it if needed. Dogs must remain leashed in all public spaces and cannot be left unattended in the room unless crated or kennelled - standard, sensible rules for a property of this size.
Food, Bowls, and the Practical Stuff
The kitchen can provide boiled food (veg or non-veg) for pets at an additional charge - a genuinely useful option for an overnight or weekend stay. However, the resort does not provide feeding bowls or any utensils, so pack your dog's bowl. If your dog is on a specific diet or branded food, bring your own supply. Pets are not permitted in the restaurant or swimming pool areas, so plan your meal timings accordingly - one person may need to stay with the dog while the other eats, or ask staff about a convenient arrangement.
Activities and the Wider Stay
For the humans, Baghaan runs an unusually long list of activities: zip line, rappelling, wall climbing, bullock cart rides, pottery, swimming, volleyball, and more. For the dog, the orchards and open lawns are the activity. The property is far enough from urban noise that anxious or reactive dogs tend to settle quickly in this kind of countryside setting. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out at 12:00 PM. Free parking on-site makes this practical for a road trip. The multi-cuisine restaurant sources locally - meals are included in some packages, check at booking.
