ALTR NATIV is a design-forward social hotel tucked into the quiet green lanes of Morjim, about 2 km from one of North Goa's calmer stretches of beach. It's adults-only, thoughtfully built, and - crucially for us - pets are welcome in select private rooms. If you're tired of the chaos of South Goa and want somewhere that feels considered rather than commercial, this is worth a look.
✓ Confirmed by the property
ALTR NATIV has confirmed that pets are welcome in select private rooms. They are not permitted in dormitory accommodations. Guests are responsible for any pet-related damages during the stay. Pet-friendly rooms carry an extra charge - confirm the fee directly with the property at the time of booking.
What the property is like
ALTR NATIV positions itself as a "social hotel" - part boutique stay, part community space. The rooms are designed with intention: every private room has its own bathroom with a bidet, AC, balcony, and a pool view. One reviewer described their room as feeling like a salt cave with a jungle bathroom - an open-air bathtub with a view that's genuinely unusual for Goa. There's a pool with a garden, property-wide WiFi, a cafe (ALTR-CAFE) that runs morning and evening service, and free parking on site. The whole space is new, clean, and quietly confident in its aesthetic.
Travelling here with a dog
Morjim is one of the better parts of Goa to bring a dog. The area is quiet by Goa standards - no thumping beach clubs, mostly residential lanes, and the beach itself is known for soft sand and nesting sea turtles (which means it stays relatively calm and less crowded). The local market is close for supplies. That said, confirm your specific room type when booking - pets are only in private rooms, not dorms, and the property applies an extra charge. Also note that outside food is not permitted on premises, so if your dog has specific food needs packed in, check with the team in advance.
Location and getting around
The property sits in Pundirwadda, off Katte Wada Rd, Morjim - a quieter pocket that keeps you away from the noisier Calangute–Baga belt. Morjim beach is 2 km out. Chapora Fort is 12 km if you want a good walk with a view. The new Mopa airport is 28 km from the property. Free parking on site makes it straightforward if you're road-tripping up from Pune or Mumbai with your dog. Car rental and a local shuttle are also available through the property.
