Zane's Cafe & Bar (Mumbai)

Tucked into the Todi Mill Compound on Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel, Zane's Cafe & Bar is one of those addresses that pet parents in Mumbai pass on to each other quietly. It's a genuine pet friendly cafe in Mumbai, Maharashtra where both dogs and cats are allowed in, and the policy isn't a maybe , it's confirmed directly with the team that runs the place. Whether you're heading in after a weekend walk with your dog or squeezing in a mid-week coffee between errands in Lower Parel, this is the kind of spot that makes city life with a pet feel a little easier.

The Setting: Todi Mill Compound, Lower Parel

The Todi Mill Compound is one of those addresses in Mumbai that keeps showing up in conversations about where to spend a good afternoon. Tucked behind the busy stretch of Senapati Bapat Marg, opposite the Ideal Industrial Estate, it occupies the kind of repurposed industrial space that Mumbai does particularly well , high ceilings, open courtyards, and a crowd that tends to be relaxed about the presence of animals. Zane's Cafe & Bar sits within this compound and benefits directly from its layout: there's a natural sense of openness that doesn't feel typical of a cramped city cafe.

For pet parents specifically, the location matters. Lower Parel is genuinely central , accessible from South Mumbai, from Bandra and the western suburbs, and from the eastern corridor without requiring a cross-city trip. The Todi Mill Compound has its own character as a destination, which means your visit doesn't have to be only about the coffee. It's the kind of place you can linger in without feeling like you're taking up space, and that applies to your dog or cat too.

The area around Senapati Bapat Marg also makes Zane's a practical stop rather than a special-occasion detour. If you're already in Lower Parel for work, a meeting, or any of the other restaurants and spaces in the mill district, it fits naturally into a day without requiring you to leave your pet in the car or at home. that feeling of not having to choose between your coffee and your dog is exactly what this listing is about.

The Cafe & Bar Experience

Zane's operates as both a cafe and a bar, which means the offering stretches across most of the day , from morning coffee through to late-night drinks. The vibe shifts accordingly: quieter and more cafe-like through the morning and early afternoon, and progressively more bar-like as the evening comes in. For pet parents, the practical implication is that earlier visits tend to be calmer and better suited to dogs who aren't yet used to busier, louder environments. That said, the compound setting gives the space enough breathing room that it doesn't feel like a tightly packed restaurant even when things pick up.

The cafe is open until 1 AM, which is notable , most pet friendly cafes in Mumbai keep fairly conservative hours, and the option to head out later in the evening with your dog when the city has cooled down slightly is genuinely useful in Mumbai's climate. Free parking is available, which again is a practical detail that matters when you're travelling with a pet and don't want to deal with street parking while managing a leash and a bag.

The menu itself covers standard cafe and bar fare, and while the specifics weren't confirmed in detail during verification, the presence of both a coffee-focused menu and a bar offering means there's enough range to make a longer visit worthwhile for the human side of the equation. What was confirmed is that the cafe does have a dedicated pet food menu , so your dog or cat isn't an afterthought here, they're actually catered for. a pet menu at a Mumbai cafe is still a rarer find than it should be, and it's worth noting that Zane's has made the effort.

Pet Policy , What's Confirmed

The pet policy at Zane's Cafe & Bar is one of the cleaner ones you'll find among dog friendly cafes in Mumbai. Here's what the verification established:

Who's welcome: Both dogs and cats are allowed. Dog size is not restricted , all sizes are welcome, from small breeds to larger dogs. This matters because a significant number of cafes in Mumbai that claim to be pet friendly quietly restrict entry to small breeds only.

What it costs: Pets stay free. There is no pet surcharge, no entry fee for your dog or cat, and no minimum spend associated with bringing a pet. For pet parents who are used to factoring in additional charges at pet friendly venues, this is worth noting.

The one confirmed condition: Pets must remain on a leash at all times during the visit. This is a standard and reasonable condition for a cafe environment, and it's worth knowing in advance so you come prepared with a leash even if your dog is well-trained off-leash at home.

What hasn't been confirmed: Breed restrictions were not specified during verification. If you have a breed that sometimes faces access issues , certain mastiff types, Rottweilers, or other breeds that occasionally trigger cafe-level anxiety , call ahead on 098198 20202 and check directly. It's a five-minute call that saves a wasted trip. Similarly, designated pet seating areas, water bowl availability, and whether the pet menu is available at all hours were not confirmed during the team's verification, so these are worth asking about when you call.

Who This Works Best For

Zane's Cafe & Bar works best as a relaxed city outing that doesn't require a plan , a Saturday morning coffee run with your dog, a post-walk stop on a weekday, or an impromptu evening out that extends later than most pet friendly spots in the city allow. It's not a destination stay or a long-haul trip , it's a neighbourhood anchor for pet parents in Mumbai who want a confirmed, no-fuss option in the central business district.

The free pet entry and the confirmed phone verification make it a safer choice than many listings that simply appear on pet friendly roundups without any actual confirmation from the property. The pet food menu, the late closing time, and the free parking add up to a set of practical details that matter on an actual visit , not just in a listing. For dog owners in particular who are used to being turned away at the door of cafes that claim to be pet friendly, Zane's is the kind of confirmed spot that earns a place in your regular rotation.

Cat owners will also find this genuinely welcoming , cats allowed at cafes is even rarer than dogs allowed, and the explicit confirmation that both species are welcome is a meaningful distinction.
