Designated Pet Room
Hill Fort-Kesroli is a genuine 14th-century fort hotel managed by Neemrana Hotels, perched on a hilltop 11 km from Alwar Junction with sweeping views over mustard fields. It is one of the rare heritage properties in Rajasthan that has a clearly defined, written pet policy โ dogs and cats are accommodated in the dedicated Naqqar Khana room. If you are travelling with a large dog and want a heritage experience without the chaos of a big city hotel, this is a serious option worth knowing about.
โ Confirmed by the property
Neemrana Hotels publishes the full pet policy on their official terms and conditions page for Hill Fort-Kesroli. Dogs and cats under 45 kg, house-trained and with valid vaccinations, are welcome in the Naqqar Khana room. Guests must declare their pet at the time of booking โ walk-in with a pet is at the General Manager's discretion.
The Pet Setup โ What to Actually Expect
Pets are restricted to the Naqqar Khana room; they are not permitted in the dining spaces, bar, or any other recreational areas of the property. A cleaning and service fee of โน3,000 per stay applies, plus a refundable security deposit of โน1,500 collected at check-in. If you need a meal arranged for your dog or cat, the kitchen can provide a portion of rice and chicken for โน500 on request. The 45 kg weight limit is generous enough to cover most large breeds, but the room restriction is firm โ plan your day around your pet being in the room when you head to meals. Pre-booking declaration is not optional; it is enforced policy.
The Fort Itself
The rooms at Kesroli are individually styled with wood furnishings and stone arches โ no two are identical. Some have balconies, terraces, or sitting areas; suites are bi-level, circular, or set inside a turret. Breakfast and evening tea are included in the room rate, served in the property's alfresco dining area. The fort hosts weekend Rajasthani and Indian folk dance performances on Saturdays, along with a swimming pool, spa, herb garden, billiards room, and guided fort tours. It also sits 51 km from Sariska Tiger Reserve, making it a practical base for a wildlife day trip before returning to the fort at sunset.
Getting There
The property is located in Kesroli village, approximately 11 km from Alwar Junction railway station. Alwar is well connected by rail from Delhi (roughly 2.5 to 3 hours). By road from Delhi, the drive is approximately 150 km via NH 48 and NH 248, typically 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic. The final approach winds up a quiet hill road โ manageable in most cars. Free parking is available on-site.
