Chitvan Resort (Ajmer)

Current confirmed policy updates: Pets are allowed on beds and sofas. All dog sizes are allowed. These confirmations supersede older statements for these facts only. Other restrictions remain unchanged.

Chitvan Resort sits on over one hectare of land along NH448 on the Ajmer-Jaipur Expressway, making it one of the more accessible pet-friendly stays in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Pets are allowed in private rooms at no additional charge , a straightforward, no-fee policy that removes one of the most common friction points for travelling pet parents. The property is about 10 km from the 16th-century Akbari Fort and Museum, and from Sir Jitendra Park on the shores of Anasagar Lake, so you're well-placed for day trips while having a proper base camp for your dog.

The Setting

Spread across more than one hectare along a national highway corridor, Chitvan Resort has the kind of grounds that make a real difference when you're travelling with a dog. Reviewers consistently describe the property as beautifully maintained with spacious rooms, and photos from guests show tree-lined open walkways, covered pergola corridors, and greenery throughout the campus. That outdoor space matters for dogs who've been cooped up in a car , there's room to stretch, sniff, and decompress after a long drive. The property is positioned directly on the Ajmer-Jaipur Expressway, which makes it a practical overnight stop for pet parents road-tripping between Jaipur and Ajmer rather than a destination in itself, though the location works well for either purpose.

Ajmer is a city with significant religious and historical footprint , the Dargah Sharif, Akbari Fort, and Anasagar Lake are all within easy reach. The resort's location on the city's eastern fringe, along the highway, keeps you away from the more congested inner-city areas while still giving you quick access to the sights. For dog owners, this positioning is actually a practical advantage: easier parking, more space, and less urban noise stress for your pet.

Pet Policy in Plain Terms

The confirmed policy is clear: pets allowed in private rooms, no extra charges. There is no pet fee, no deposit mentioned, and no breed restriction confirmed by the property. What this means practically is that your dog sleeps in the room with you , not in a kennel, not in the car, and not at a surcharge. For a hotel-format property in Rajasthan, this is a genuinely good position on pet access. The no-fee policy is worth noting because many properties in this category charge anywhere from ₹200 to ₹1,000 per night as a pet surcharge; Chitvan does not.

The restriction to private rooms only is also worth taking seriously. If you're travelling in a group and looking at dormitory or shared accommodation options, those are not pet-inclusive. Book a private room and confirm your pet's presence when you call or message ahead. The property's phone number is 097840 04433.

What Guests Say

With 975 Google reviews and a 4.0 rating, Chitvan Resort sits in a solid middle ground , praised strongly by a significant portion of guests, with a visible minority citing inconsistency in housekeeping and service responsiveness. Guests who have rated it highly mention spacious rooms and a well-kept property, good food with decent variety, and helpful staff (one reviewer specifically called out a staff member named Mr. Rajender by name). The property has also been used for wedding events, which suggests it has enough capacity and grounds management to handle larger groups. Critical reviewers pointed to slow service and room cleanliness as concerns , the management has responded to at least one such review, acknowledging the feedback. For a pet-friendly stay, the most relevant positives are the maintained grounds and the room size, both of which directly affect comfort when you have a dog in tow.

What to Confirm Before You Visit

A few things are not yet confirmed in our records that are worth verifying directly with the property before you arrive: whether there is a size or weight limit on dogs, whether specific pet-friendly rooms are designated or any private room qualifies, and whether there are any restrictions on pets in the dining or common areas. The property does have open grounds, but we have not confirmed whether dogs are permitted to walk freely on the lawns or if there's a specific area designated for that.
