My dog got altitude sickness in Manali — what should I know for next time?
Drove up to Manali last summer with my Husky Storm (3 years, fit, runs with me daily). At around 2800m he started panting excessively, refused food completely, and went very lethargic. We assumed huskies are built for altitude and cold. We were wrong.
Turned out to be classic altitude sickness. We descended and he was fine within 6 hours. Has anyone else experienced this? What do I need to know before taking him back to the hills?
