Taj Damdama Lake Resort & Spa sits just 50 metres from Damdama Lake - Haryana's largest - on the Sohna-Gurgaon Road, about 45 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport. It's one of the few five-star properties in the NCR region that explicitly accepts both dogs and cats, making it a genuine option for pet parents who don't want to compromise on comfort. The 143-room resort combines lake-edge greenery with Taj-level service, a luxury spa, and outdoor adventure activities all on one sprawling property.

What It's Like Arriving With a Dog
The resort's grounds are genuinely spacious - something that matters the moment you open the car door and your dog realises there's actual grass to run on. The property sits within a natural landscape near Damdama Lake, so that first exhale when your dog hits open ground happens almost immediately. Free private parking makes unloading dogs, crates, and gear straightforward. The 24-hour front desk and concierge can assist with any on-arrival logistics. Note that pet charges apply on top of room rates - confirm the exact amount when reserving, as this detail was not publicly listed at the time of writing.
The Property Itself
With 130 rooms and 13 suites spread across the estate, the resort doesn't feel cramped. Rooms are air-conditioned with garden views, satellite TV, and en-suite bathrooms with bathrobes - standard Taj comforts. For humans, the wellness offering is solid: a luxury spa, hammam, sauna, fitness centre, and outdoor swimming pool. Adventure activities on-site include rappelling, archery, paintball, and ATV rides - worth knowing if you're planning a longer stay and want to do more than just relax. Three dining venues cover different moods: Shamiana for all-day multi-cuisine, Zvatra for regional North-Indian fine dining, and VIXX for lounge drinks and finger food.
Around the Property for Dog Walks
The lakeside setting is the real draw for dog owners. Damdama Lake is a recognised eco-tourism destination with open scrubland and walking trails in the surrounding area, so morning walks here feel nothing like a city hotel. The resort also offers free bicycle hire if you want to explore further along the Sohna road. The Aravalli foothills backdrop means the landscape stays green and textured - good for dogs that need more than a parking lot sniff. Horse riding is available at the property too, listed as a guest activity. The resort is 9 km from Sulphur Hot Springs Sohna and roughly 27 km from Gurgaon Railway Station.
