Most pet-friendly stays near Gurgaon mean a small lawn, a pool with a "no pets" sign near it, and a check-in conversation about whether your Golden Retriever counts as a large dog. Sora Eco Farm by Nivaas, which opened in Sector 67 Gurugram just a month before we visited, means none of that. The pool is full size and the dogs own it. The lawn is open. The rooms are air conditioned and properly built. And nobody asks how many pets you are bringing or what breed they are.
We arrived on a Wednesday evening in August 2026 — Ekta, Akash, Apple, Captain, Kimchi, and Rustie. The moment Ekta opened the Rubicon door, Apple came out of the car at full speed. He had already smelled the pool. He ran from the parking area to the pool without slowing down and dived straight in. No introduction, no test of the water, no checking whether it was allowed. That is the correct response to a five-foot deep pool on a warm August evening in Gurgaon, and it told us everything we needed to know about what kind of place this was.
Pet Policy at a Glance
All pets welcome. All breeds, all sizes, no limit on the number of pets. Dogs, cats, birds, and all Indian pets confirmed. Pets allowed in rooms, on the lawn, and in the pool. No extra charge per pet, no deposit. Tell Lov when you book how many pets you are bringing so Deepak the caretaker can prepare.
The Pool
The pool at Sora Eco Farm is the headline feature and it earns the attention. Full size, five feet deep, clean, and genuinely open to dogs. Apple spent the first two hours of the stay doing what can only be described as repetitive diving: out of the pool, run to the edge, dive back in, repeat, minimum twenty times. He exits the pool himself from five feet without assistance, which is worth knowing if you are visiting with a Golden Retriever for the first time and wondering whether the depth is manageable.
Kimchi swims differently from Apple. Where Apple is velocity and repetition, Kimchi is calm, deliberate, and content in the water. At some point in the evening both of them were in the pool with Ekta in the centre and the photo that came out of it is the best pool photograph we have from any pet-friendly stay in India. A full-size private pool that dogs actually swim in freely, in Sector 67 Gurgaon, is a genuinely rare thing. This one exists.
For Dog Parents: What the Pool Experience Is Like
The pool has no "pets in designated areas only" rule. Dogs enter and exit as they choose. The depth is 5 feet throughout, which large dogs handle well independently. Apple entered from a running dive and exited on his own every time. Bring towels for the dogs as the property does not supply pet-specific drying towels. The pool area has grass surrounds so muddy paws are manageable.
The Rooms and Property
Sora Eco Farm has six rooms in total, all built in a mud-house aesthetic that manages to feel genuinely earthy without sacrificing comfort. The construction is a month old at the time of our visit, which means everything is new: the AC units, the beds, the bathrooms, the fixtures. We booked five rooms for the group. Each room is individually air-conditioned, properly sized, and built with a design sensibility that sits somewhere between a Rajasthani haveli and a Kumaon homestay. Dogs sleep in the rooms. Rustie, who has opinions about sleeping arrangements, was on the bed within the first ten minutes.
The property runs on power backup, which matters for August stays in Haryana where monsoon power cuts are a genuine inconvenience. The lawn is open and large enough for dogs to run without leads. Captain and Rustie used the entire perimeter on the first evening. There is a covered outdoor seating area for meals and an open-fire setup for evenings that can include BBQ.
Food
An in-house chef is available with a pre-provided menu. Kitchen access is not open to guests, but the food service is reliable and covers the standard farmstay range: breakfast, lunch, dinner on request. Order ahead so Deepak and the chef can prepare. For a group of six humans and four dogs arriving hungry after a Gurgaon drive, the food setup worked well. Order your meals in advance when booking — the chef works to a set menu and advance notice makes the experience smoother.
Deepak, the Caretaker
Deepak manages the day-to-day of the property. He is a dog lover and it shows in how he interacts with the animals rather than just in how he describes himself. Four dogs arriving at once with a range of energy levels and sizes produced zero friction on his end. He was attentive, prepared, and comfortable with every dog from the first minute. When a property's caretaker genuinely likes dogs, the stay is different. Sora Eco Farm has that.
Before You Book
Call or WhatsApp Lov Dwivedi on +91 83819 00578 to confirm availability and dates. The property has 6 rooms and can be booked in part or full. Rs 10,000 per night covers the property booking. Tell Lov how many pets you are bringing at the time of booking. Kitchen is not accessible to guests so plan food requirements in advance from the chef menu. Bring your own dog towels.
