🐾 When we visited with Apple, Captain, and Kimchi
We drove up from Gurgaon and arrived on 26th January 2026 to a property that handled our three-dog arrival without a flicker of hesitation — the staff helped us get settled immediately after the long drive. Outside, it was snowing. Inside, the entire cottage was heated from floor to ceiling — including the bathroom, which had heated floors that stayed completely dry and cosy. Apple, Captain, and Kimchi found the open area outside the property and went absolutely feral in the snow. We joined them throwing snowballs until the cold got to us, then retreated indoors where they sprawled across the heated rooms like they owned the place. Each stay unit includes two rooms and a hall, all warmed by large heaters. The food was tasty and the staff were genuinely pet-friendly throughout — not just tolerant, but actively helpful.
The Setting and the Drive
Village Soyal sits on the Manali–Naggar state highway, about 14 km from Manali town. The property is part of a small scenic village where vehicles are not permitted inside — the nearest parking is approximately 200 metres from the property. That's worth factoring in if you're travelling with multiple dogs and a lot of gear; you'll need to make a short walk from the car park to the entrance. The village setting itself is quiet and away from the main Manali tourist belt, which is actually an advantage with dogs — fewer crowds, less chaos, and an open area right outside the property where your dogs can run without a leash.
The drive from Delhi or Gurgaon is long (roughly 520–550 km depending on your route), but the road up to Soyal is manageable for most vehicles. Himachal Pradesh winters are serious, so if you're visiting between November and February, confirm road conditions before you leave. The property has confirmed 100% mobile internet coverage with Jio, Airtel, and BSNL all working — useful if you need to check in with a vet or look up routes.
Pet Policy — What's Actually Confirmed
Elysian Suites is pet-tolerant, and the policy is specific enough to plan around. Dogs are welcome inside the room and are allowed on the bed — with zero additional pet charges. There are no breed restrictions and no size limits, which means large breeds like Goldens, Labs, and even bigger dogs are genuinely welcome. The one clear rule: dogs must remain leashed within the property premises. Outside the property, in the open area adjacent to the building, they can run off-leash. On our visit, this open area was where Apple, Captain, and Kimchi played in the snow, and it worked perfectly for all three of them.
Meals are available on request or included in your package depending on your booking — the property sources ingredients from their own farms and prepares homely, freshly cooked food throughout your stay. What to Know Before You Visit
Each suite unit at Elysian Suites includes two rooms and a hall — making it genuinely spacious enough for a family travelling with dogs. The internal heating is robust and covers the entire living space, including the bathroom floor, which is a meaningful detail in sub-zero Himalayan winters. Guests consistently rate the property 5/5 on rooms, service, and location — the view from the property toward the surrounding hills has been highlighted in multiple reviews as a standout feature. The property does not accommodate large groups (it is not structured for that), so it works best for couples or small families.
One thing to confirm directly before booking: whether the open off-leash area outside has adequate fencing or boundaries for your specific dog. On our visit it worked well for all three of our dogs, but this is worth a quick call to the property, especially if your dog has a strong recall issue or is prone to wandering. Parking being 200 metres away is also worth mentally preparing for — manageable, but factor it into your arrival plan if you have a senior dog or heavy gear.
