Pet Add-On Fee (incl. deep cleaning)
Finding a cab in Kolkata that will actually let your dog, cat, or bird ride along is harder than it should be. BroomBoom Cabs is one of the few organised cab-booking platforms in West Bengal that has a dedicated "Pets Allowed" add-on service - covering local city rides, airport transfers, and outstation trips across the state. The platform operates as an aggregator, connecting you with partnered drivers who have confirmed they will accept pets, so you are not relying on a random driver's goodwill on the day.
✓ Confirmed by the property
BroomBoom Cabs confirms that pets - including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals - are accepted on their platform. Riders must select the "Pets Allowed" add-on at the time of booking, and then call the reservation desk at 8240828414 to confirm that their specific pet will be travelling. Pet-friendly cabs are subject to availability, so calling immediately after booking is strongly advised. An additional charge starting from ₹3,000 applies per trip, which covers deep-cleaning of the vehicle after your ride.
How the Pet Booking Process Actually Works
BroomBoom Cabs works differently from Ola or Uber - you cannot just tap and go. The process requires two steps: first, book your ride through the BroomBoom app (available on Google Play) or via their website, and select the "Pets Allowed" add-on service during checkout. Second - and this is the part most people miss - you need to call the reservation desk at 8240828414 after completing the booking to verbally confirm that your pet will be on the trip. This two-step process exists because pet-friendly cab availability is not guaranteed on every route at every hour. Calling early gives you the best chance of confirming a suitable vehicle.
The platform offers four vehicle categories: Hatchback (Wagon-R or similar, ₹8/km), Sedan (Dzire, Etios or similar, ₹10/km), SUV (Xylo, Ertiga or similar, ₹15/km), and Assured Innova (Innova Crysta, ₹17/km). For larger dogs or multiple pets, the SUV or Innova options will be noticeably more comfortable - both are 6-seater vehicles with rear cargo space. You can specify your vehicle preference when making your pet-friendly taxi booking request.
What the ₹3,000 Pet Fee Covers
The additional charge of ₹3,000 (starting price - confirm the exact amount for your specific route at the time of booking) covers the full cost of deep-cleaning the vehicle after your ride. This is not a per-kilometre surcharge - it is a flat add-on that funds the post-trip sanitisation the driver needs to do before taking their next passenger. It is a meaningful amount, and worth factoring into your travel budget before booking. The base per-kilometre rates listed above apply on top of this fee. BroomBoom states that fares for outstation pet-friendly cabs from Delhi (where their service page is also active) range from ₹550–₹850 for sedans and ₹950–₹1,250 for prime SUVs, but confirm pricing for Kolkata and West Bengal routes directly with the team before booking.
Coverage: West Bengal Local and Outstation Trips
BroomBoom Cabs was founded in West Bengal during the Covid pandemic with the specific aim of bridging transportation gaps between rural and urban areas of the state. Their pet-friendly cab service in Kolkata and across West Bengal covers three booking types: local city rides (point-to-point within the city), airport and station transfers (useful for those flying with a pet in cabin or picking up a pet from the airport), and outstation one-way or round trips anywhere in the state. They accept a wide range of pets - dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals - making this one of the more inclusive cab platforms for pet parents who do not own a car or need a backup option for longer journeys.
What to Confirm Before You Book
A few things worth clarifying directly with BroomBoom before your trip: whether there are any breed or size restrictions for dogs on their partnered vehicles (not mentioned on the website), exact pet fee amounts for your specific route and vehicle type, and lead time required - since pet-friendly cabs are subject to availability, same-day bookings may not always be possible. Reach the reservation desk at 8240828414 or email support@broomboomcabs.com. Their registered office is at 7 T C Mukherjee Street, Rishra, West Bengal 712248.
