Read this first - Mussoorie doesn't have its own dedicated rescue NGO

Same situation as Rishikesh, covered elsewhere in this series: Mussoorie doesn't have a well-established, independently verifiable animal rescue organisation based in the hill station itself. This guide says so plainly rather than stretching thin material to look complete.

If you're travelling in Mussoorie with your own dog - staying at Barefoot House or elsewhere - and come across a street animal in distress, here's the honest picture.

Local veterinary care

Mussoorie has local veterinary clinics for treatment, but no independently verified dedicated rescue-and-ambulance organisation. If you find an injured animal and can safely transport it, a local vet is your fastest option for immediate care; search directly for current clinics, since specific numbers weren't independently verified for this piece.

Dehradun - your practical full-service backup

Dehradun is roughly 35km and under an hour away, and has a genuinely established rescue infrastructure covered in full in our Dehradun animal welfare guide - PFA Dehradun's Raahat Animal Hospital, reachable via WhatsApp, is the nearest verified full-service option for anything beyond immediate local care.
